What is the RGPD?
The RGPD, this new European Regulation applicable from May 2018 concerns the protection of personal data. It extends to all companies, even those not based in the European Union. This new reform pursues 3 objectives:
- Strengthen people's rights, in particular by creating a right to portability of personal data
- Making data processors accountable
- Enhancing the credibility of regulation through greater cooperation between data protection authorities, especially transnational ones
What are the principles of the RGPD?
- You need to ensure that the individual has given you their "informed" consent to be included in your file; in other words, they must be able to know what information you are storing about them, and how you intend to use it.
- You must justify why you are storing this data
- You must make it possible for individuals to request the deletion of their personal data at least as easily as they have given their consent (right to be forgotten).
Vivetic is currently in the process of complying with the new regulations and invites you to discover the 6 steps to follow:
Step 1: Designate a pilot
Step 2: Mapping your personal data processing
Step 3: Prioritize actions
Step 4: Managing risks
Step 5: Organizing internal processes
Step 6: Documenting compliance
Failure to comply with these rules exposes companies to enormous financial penalties.
At Vivetic, we undertake to take all necessary precautions and to ensure that the principle of data protection is properly applied.
